We would like to send a very special Christmas message to all our followers and friends. 2023 was a phenomenal year for our club.
But we will not dwell on those achievement for the moment.
Instead we would like to remember those who are no longer with us, the empty chair that will fill our tables and homes this year, the unbought present for those departed, the first of many Christmases that will become the 2nd and 3rd and more in years to come, to those that who moved into their first forever home in time for their first Christmas together, rooted in their community. A new sense of belonging, togetherness…
To our members and friends who are working this Christmas keeping us safe, our frontline workers, gardai, nurses, Drs, ambulance service, fire service, coast guard, their contribution known to society by the uniform they adorn, not all are identified by a uniform, some are known as those who you can call upon when in trouble; a listening ear, a silent voice, allowing the words to be said. Indebted to our society we are to those ears. Families are indebted to you for your contribution throughout the year.
To those suffering in isolation, remember someone somewhere is debted to you for a contribution you have made to their lives. Christmas Day is one day of the year, there’s are 364 other days of the year. Don’t let one day overshadow those 364 days of the year.
To family and friends who aren’t in Lixnaw for 2023 but would dearly love to be: you are remembered by those who you long to be with.
